Traditional Culture – Stories – Art – Fun & Gathering People in the North
This is the most northerly Storytelling Festival on the mainland of Scotland – come and visit the festival and have the bonus of seeing spectacular scenery and historic archeological sites scattered everywhere up here – even with all the windfarms they are building and planning.
We are based in a small traditional style hall (Melvich Village Hall - check for us on Facebook) in the midst of the traditional fishing and crofting villages of Portskerra and Melvich with a fabulous background of traditional stories and Gaelic /Norse culture and ceilidhs, music, song and edged by glorious fishing and surfing beaches and the sea. The main annual festival events happen in conjunction with the Scottish International Storytelling Festival based in Edinburgh.
Festival Organiser:
Alexandria Patience

Portskerra and Melvich villages flow into one another - in close vicinity to the Hall (KW14 7YL) we have the Melvich Hotel, the Halliday Inn, West End Stores/Post Office and a number of B&B's in the neighbourhood - along with stunning beaches, surfing, and outdoor audio story walks (for rent from the shop or the Halliday Inn).
