Storytellers will accompany each of the walks: Berit Alette Mienna, Georgiana Keable, Tom Muir & Alexandria Patience for information on each of the storytellers please see 2013 Storytellers page.
Sarah Vale, of the North Coast Leisure Centre along with one of the storytellers will be guiding the walks for the under 12's and their guardians. These are family friendly events and also for those with limited walking strength.
There are two walks please note times.
The third walk is for over 12's and adults. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and good strong footwear. Bring any additional items you may require on the walk.
STORY WALKS – October 20th
2pm - Walk 1 – Age up to 6yrs, easy trail – Melvich Village Hall to PORTSKERRA. Coastal route, approx 1 mile, should take around 40 mins.
Details – Taking the coastal path past Meall Mor on grass path to Portskerra. Good pathways, accessible to a reasonably robust buggy. On return route the walk will head down the gentle descent towards the pebble beach, and weather permitting perhaps explore some rockpools. Return to Hall for juice and changeover to the older group.
3pm - Walk 2 – Age 6-12yrs, moderate trail – Melvich Village Hall to RUBHA BHRA, via coastal route to PORTSKERRA. Approx 2 miles, should take between 1-1.5 hours. Return to the Hall. Details – Take coastal route to Portskerra and then up the road and grass path to Rubha Bhra. Lovely views.
2-4pm - Walk 3 - Aged over 12 - Adults, moderate trail but some rough uneven ground - 2 hours. Melvich Village Hall to the peat road. Spectacular views of the coastal area. And back to hall for tea/coffee.

An easy going inside look at stories and a chance to tell them if you want. Tom Muir and Alexandria Patience will lead this session. Please book ahead.
